dont know how to bring up symtoms to a dr

hi,
i am a 26 yr old female. i have had severe lumbar back pain for yrs i think first time went to er i was 16 and at that time for no reason without warning i had stabbing feelings that knocked me to my feet and took breathe right out off me and resulted in loss of feeling in feet and in legs for days.since the i have experienced these weird pains pretty frequently. i had an mri about 5 yrs ago that found swelling around three disks in my lower lumbar spine and was sent to a pain management clinic for steriod spinal epidorals which didnt solve anything really just added a feeling of preasure like someone standing on my spine. after that they refered my to have a breast reduction to take preasure from my spine. i had the surgery but still get sharp stabbing feeling out of no where.as time goes on now i not only get the pains but now the feeling of being burned like someone holding a match to my skin in my right thigh, my foot fill go completely numb and i will fall just walking in a store, the numbness has within the past yr moved up my leg into my abs and throughout my arms especialy my fingers. all of which has never been rechecked in an mri since my first yrs ago.i have had migrian headaches that have had me in er which i was told is a reason for the fact that my vision has become blurred which never actualy happens at time of headache just random times. i lately am so tired by the time i leave work i cant even make my family dinner which dr's tell me is depression, but depression meds dont make me fell any better.i also was told i have a d d  which is why i can not remember or obsorb info the way i used to. but it wasnt til the other day i really got scarred and started to think all this could be related, about three days ago i started to get the nunb feeling in my hands and also started having muscle spasms so i grabbed my flexeril (perscribed for the back issues and spasms) when i went to turn the cap i couldnt it was the weirdest feeling i have ever had its like even though i knew how i just couldnt i got frustrated and the mader i got the worse it was, my hands were shacking, i was trying to speak and couldnt get anything out i dropped the pills all over the floor and just started crying i called a friend of mine who is a nurse and she said go to the hospital but i was by myself and couldnt even imagine trying to drive since then all my symptoms from the back, leg aches, numbness, attention probs, memory probs, spasms, burning feeling, blurred vision, etc are hitting my all at once on a daily basis, and a keep dropping everything.i dont know what to do and i feel like im crazy or its all in my head and am terrified to speak to a dr. about this.

Hi there. You need to be ruled out for depression first and an MRI spine done to check the latest status of your discs. If these are in place a detailed check up for a MS a chronic demyelinating disorder is required where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion. The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are loss of balance, muscle spasms, numbness in any area, problems with walking and coordination, tremors in one or more arms and legs. Bowel and bladder symptoms include frequency of micturition, urine leakage, eye symptoms like double vision uncontrollable rapid eye movements, facial pain, painful muscle spasms, tingling, burning in arms or legs, depression, dizziness, hearing loss, fatigue etc. The treatment is essentially limited to symptomatic therapy so the course of action would not change much whether MS has been diagnosed or not. Apart from clinical neurological examination, MRI shows MS as paler areas of demyelination, two different episodes of demyelination separated by one month in at least two different brain locations. Spinal tap is done and CSF electrophoresis reveals oligoclonal bands suggestive of immune activity, which is suggestive but not diagnostic of MS. Demyelinating neurons, transmit nerve signals slower than non-demyelinated ones and can be detected with EP tests. These are visual evoked potentials, brain stem auditory evoked response, and somatosensory evoked potential. Slower nerve responses in any one of these is not confirmatory of MS but can be used to complement diagnosis along with a neurological examination, medical history and an MRI in addition, a spinal tap. Therefore, it would be prudent to consult your neurologist with these concerns. Hope this helps. Take care.

You need to get checked and tell the doctors everything that is wrong. DO NOT hold back. I can understand being scared but without a diagnosis and treatment things will continue to become worse. You need an updated mri, myelogram, ct scan. I hope you get some help soon. It sounds as if you are having a lot of problems. Best wishes.
