dystrophy

hi,
I have had RSD for 18 months following surgery. My status today is confusing me.
I have stiffness in my fingers which hurts when exercising., therefore not
exercising as much as I should.I feel like I am going backwords.
I am currently not seeing my hand surgeon,but tried using
Voltaren generic as per doctor for the last 2 weeks with no help.
It seems when I read the blogs everyone talks about pain they have, My concern is the
stiffness left. Should I go to a different doctor, if so which one, or back to my hand specialist .
My insurance will not pay for anymore Bier Blocks.(I've had two). Any suggestions?

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

I do sympathize with your health concern after surgical complication. It seems that you might have hand nerve injury during the surgery so that may have been resulted into RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy). Symptoms of RSD could be intense pain in hand/fingers, numbness, altered skin color, swelling and abnormal sensitivity. Treatment of RSD mainly includes steroid & pain killer. In addition, physiotherapy is the essential part of the treatment to improve the movement of the affected hand. I would suggest consulting a neurologist as well in order to reach at probable diagnosis here. Hope this information proves helpful to you.
