earache

I have a right-sided earache which is not an infection. I can't bear loud noise, and am in constant pain on that side.Could it be atypical trigeminal neuralgia? Has anyone else experienced this condition. Please reply as this has been nearly 4 months of hell. Many thanks,ANNA

sorry for you're pain Anna. I'm not sure if this will be of any help to you but I will comment in hopes that it may.
I too had left sided ear/shoulder pain...not as excruciating as you describe yours but never the less constant and very uncomfortable, I tried acupuncture for 4 weeks with only mild relief...finally tried a massage therapist who does deep muscle massage. she worked my upper back/shoulder and neck area very good, I was extremely sore after but it was a different pain. that was 2 weeks ago and have not had a recurrence of the ear/neck pain. maybe worth a try.
My mother had trigeminal neuralgia...the pain was mainly from her jaw area and up into the eye...involved the ear too but wasn't localized as you describe you'res....however don't rule that out.
