ears and *1,000 crickets becoming a nusiance!

I guess I should have a headache but I don't It is a nuisance you might say. The noises inside of both my ears.

It sounds like there are about 1,000 crickets inside of both my ears. It just won't stop.

6 months ago I have a bad bilateral ear infection and I was put on a antibiotic to get rid of the ear infection it took

awhile to get rid of the infection. I got it right in the middle of cold February. Right after this ear infection I heard 1,000

crickets in both of my ears.

What is going on?

Hello.

This symptom is called "tinnitus". Common causes of tinnitus are inner ear problem, middle ear problem, Eustachian tube problems, migraine, brain tumor and high blood pressure.

This may have been caused by the irritation of the auditory nerve by the infective organism.

I went to see a phycian assitant at a clinic he treated the bilateral inner ear infection.

Now he says I have meniers desease. Who gave me meds that only made my heart go to irregular I had to stop taking them.

I am wondering if I should just go to my regualar
MD family physician now. I can't get rid of these 1,000 crickets they are driving me nuts.

I think it is from the bad  inner ear infection because it happened right after that.

Should I go to my regular doctor now?

Hello.

Meniere's disease has to be treated with a conservative approach. You should start having low sodium (salt) diet. Make sure you consume less than 2 grams of salt per day. Do not add extra salt while having meals. Consult a dietician if you wish to formulate a low salt diet.

Restrict any caffeine if you take. Diuretics (drugs which increase urine production) help in reducing the pressure in the inner ear apparatus. Meniere's disease is a disorder of the inner ear apparatus (vestibular apparatus). The apparatus is normally filled with a fluid. In Meniere's disease, the fluid pressure increases above normal range, leading to the constant tinnitus. Hence, the treatment is aimed at reducing this pressure.

If medication does not help, there are surgical options also.

You may have to discuss all the treatment options. Please do not get discouraged if you did not tolerate any particular drug. There are always other options.

thank you Im going to my regular physician about my 1,000 crickets in my ears
it is nuisance. I will tell him of the medication I have been on from the PA. And the bilateral
bad inner ear infection that I had while he was away on vacation. So maybe my
family doctor can now pick up on the needed medical care that I need now.
Thank you for words of encouragement and info I hope I get these crickets out of ears and  into the creek where they belong
