electric shocks

by flatty38, Jan 22, 2008 11:17AM
PLease, please help.
For 3 years I have experianced a constant electric shock at the top of my neck joining my head.
The shocks don't go to the same place every time, they can go to any part of my body from toes to eyeballs. I have 1000's per day. The very strong ones ( at least 100 or more) create a pins and needles sensation and then severe pain in that area. I have had to give up work because the severity has increased. I am totally exhausted. I have seen bone specialists, and two neurologists. I have been given numerous tests, they have said it may be MS but the mri's don't show anything. I have been told that I have DDD, but so do most people in their 40's. They have given me lyrica. Didn't work. they constantly give me percoset as this is the only thing that stops it. But now they don't work and the elctric shocks have worsened. I have had numerous ones to the heart. These are very scary. They cause terrific palpatations and severe chest pain. Yes I have been to a cardiologist and am fine.
The only thing that may help is that I have spurs on my c3 c2 and some demylasation in that area.
The doctors are stumped. My Glands are also constantly swollen including my lymph glands. Every shock comes from the neck and head area. Please, if you have any ideas of what to do next. I would be greatful.

I am very aware of what you are going through I also suffer from this and many other symptoms for the last 6 years i have had symptoms and treatment for multiple sclerosis but my mri and lumbar puncture done 5 years ago showed nothing and my neurologist will not re scan me yet which is very frustrating ( he will not diagnose me with anything either) I now attend a homeopathic doctor who is really good perhaps you could ask your gp to refer you to one you should also demand a second opinion and keep asking questions until you get a medication which helps. Just remember you are not alone hope you get something to help you soon

I have had electric shocks to my body (almost always on the left side) for several years. They started after having my neck fused. I take Neurontin 300 mg three times a day but that doesn't totally stop them. They actually seem to be getting worse. My doctor said I may never know what causes them. YIKES! Not the answer I'm looking for. I want to know why my body is shocking itself and am not happy with the drugs just trying to cover it up. Sometimes the shocks will be so strong that my leg or arm with fling! I have nerve damage in my arms and legs due to neck and back surgery. Yet no satisfaction from any doctor.
