elevated cpk

by Stacy1442, Sep 11, 2008 07:38PM
i am a 36 yr old female.  I went to the er last night because of left arm numbness (i was concerned because of my family hx of stroke and heart disease)  my ekg / and ct scan was normal, but my blood work showed an elevated cpk (normal is 180 and mine was 630)  the dr. gave me a liter of fliuds and repeated the test, it came down to 530.  I do not regularly excercise, although i did ride my horse vigorously a week ago and was sore after the ride for 3 days.  I also took 2 aspirin prior to going to the er (which i understand can elevate cpk levels)  the er dr. advised to follow up with my regular dr. ASAP.  Has anyone had to go through the diagnostics for more specific cpk tests?
thanks,
stacy
