epidermoids lesions

by devlee, May 10, 2008 02:49PM
After reading the previous question...I was DX MS 8 years ago.  I never believed the DX and just lived a healthy, active life.  My MRI has never changed, just one large "lesion" on the brainstem.  The lesion hasn't grown or "healed" to form a scar so the DX of MS is in question. I have a hearing loss in the left ear, double vision, facial paralizes on left side, unsteady gait, cognitive issues, fatigue which is magnified during periods of stress and/or hormonal changes.
I find myself slowing down in the last year.  My question...I've had three MRIs in 8 years, nothing has changed on the MRI but my symptoms have gotten slightly worse in the last year.  I was told to have a more detailed MRI to determine if this is a "tumor" or a "lesion".  What is the name of the MRI the DR are referring to?

This discussion is related to Dx: brain stem lesion.

Im going through the same thing with lesion in the brain, only mine is near the cerebellum and they dont know what it is and what it is doin in there and its 1.2 cm...
bugs me so much Ive looked up every test they could do besides simply going in through biopsy... They want me to have a MRI with special setting to next week, and some stuff Ive looked into are MRI's, CAT scans, blood work, lumbar puncture...then ther is MRA. ive read alot of stuff about MRA but thats the only thing I could think of unless they use a different dye during the MRI.
