epidural

I just had an cerivcal epidural today for a herneiated disc C6 & C7 that is pushing on a nerve. It was a very scary experience!!!! My whole body felt like it had an electrical current running through it. It lasted quite a while. I was so scared because I ddin't know what was going on. It was all I could not to get up and run as fast as I could. After the procedure. It started going away a little at a time. Finially it was just left in my legs. They took me to a recovery room. The feeling is all gone now, except for my left foot. It feels tigly and numb. The dr was not much help she acted like she had never heard or seen of this before. Don't know if she was as "shocked" by what happened as me. She did not give any reason for this happening to me. I have to go back in 2 weeks for anouther epidural. Needless to say I am dreading it!!!!
Just wondering if anyone out there has had the same experience and knows the cause?
