epidural fibrosis

by Laura55, Aug 11, 2008 09:03AM
Immediately following surgery, laminectomy at C5-6 left side, I have numbness on the underside of my left arm and thumb, index and middle finger.  When the doctor came in to speak to me I asked about this.  He stated it had just been one hour since surgery hopefully it will subside.  Well, it hasn't and he states there is nothing he can do about this because it is scar tissue.  How can scar tissue form immediately following surgery?  Keep in mind I discovered this in the recovery room.  Surgery was on 6/11/08.

Thanks
