eye twitch/facial nerve

I've seen a few questions closely related to this, but the background in my case seems a little different.

Anyway I've had an eye twitch in my lower right eye lid for about the past three weeks. It is sporadic, it twitches for a few minutes about every half hour or hour, but there are sometimes when there is a longer break between twitches. When it is twitching more often my eye will feel sore.

I had a root canal shortly before this twitch began. After the root canal the vein headed to that tooth became inflammed and painful. After the inflammation went away the twitch in my eye began. It might be coincidental, but I didn't know if the inflammation may have damaged a nerve that would cause the eye twitch.

I work at a computer for eight hours a day and I wear contacts. I don't have a lot of stress and sleep eight hours a night. Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

Hi,
It is indeed the reason that the nerve has been disturbed or irritated while doing the procedure, because of which you are having eye twitching.
These will remain for a while around 4-8 weeks and get better gradually.
Alternatively, you can see a neurologist and get an opinion regarding the same.
Hope this helps.
Bye.
