Cold chills can come from having the flu, or perhaps in your case with the fainting, could be something as simple as you not having enough protein to eat on a regular basis.  Protein is like the wood in a fire, it burns and heats up a person.  And if you ain't got no fire, you'll get cold.  In addition, protein gives you energy, and if you don't have any, you can get pretty weak and light-headed.  But there are many reasons why this happened to you, those are just my top two choices.  Neurologically speaking, I personally cannot think of anything along those lines that would make you have chills and pass out.  For example, if you had a seizure, instead of getting cold, you would seize up and then pass out.  Perhaps a different field of medicine is at work, like being sick, as I mentioned before, or maybe a cardiology abnormality, which has to do with the blood circulation in the body, may be what gave you chills and made you feel faint.

I have had the flu for approximately a week now and i haven't had the flu since high school. I'm 24 in January. Last night I was burning up like never before and I decided to switch the fan on to cool down, but I never got that far as I fainted / blacked out. I generally have high body temperature when healthy too. I do eat and drink, but I seem to not be able to sleep enough. Could this just be my body not being used to having the flu or could something else be wrong? I constantly suffer from sinus headaches and I think my body temperature is making it worse as it feels like it pulsing like my heart. Please advise...
