feeling tight over whole body with severe cramps and shooting pains

Tight ,cramps ,tensing up ,shooting pains ,aching pains in the back ,legs ,arch of feet and the penis.
A feeling of tightness over the whole body.
The penis is hard in the resting state and at times contracts/tenses up.
This occured a week after having pulled my penis while masterbating ,when i awoke i found that the penis was hard in the resting state and it was cold as well as feeling abnormally cool over the whole body.
3 1/2 months later i awoke to find i could not move with severe cramps and shooting pains.

I have seen urologists for a suspected injury to the penis but examinations and ultrasounds,MRI of the genital region show no abnormalities.
Could my condition be a neurological case and if so what is your prognosis?
any further suggestions as to what directions might be helpfull?

Forgot, you could also do a search for "muscle stiffness" or whatever other words you think fit you in the MedHelp Search rectangle in the upper right corner of the page in the blue bar.

FRYER, a diff poster from me answered you last time, CINDI.  Since your vitamin/min numbers have turned out okay over the last eight years, then it's not electrolytes doign this.  When you get the hormone panels done, also ask your doc to do an X-ray of your lower back, please.  That would verify or rule out what you describe as possibly causing your trouble, pain tensing up your muscles.  He should also review any meds you take regularly, this muscle thing can be the result of drugs.  But in summary, it's your muscles, Fryer, that are doing this, and the cause is "above my pay grade"!!  That's why I told you what to ask for in the way of tests and such.  There is a section in this website for I think undiagnosed problems or something like that, COULD be you'll get a response over there.  But I've told you pretty much what I think is going on, as per MY last post, and repeated it here, muscle diseases are not my forte, so if there's another department on this website for muscles, THAT would really be another great place to post.  I'm not throwing you off, just giving you more options.  And of course let us know anything that comes of your next doc visit, if you have time.

Hi

I have tried accupuncture for 4 years ,chinese massage, chi gong
no positive change was made nor was there any alleviation of symptoms
i take chelated magnesium(have for the duration of the muscles being hard)
i have a very healthy well balanced diet ,i eat home grown vegetables
the water from the shower is filtered rain water (no problem there)
i will get a blood test to see vitamin and hormonal level but since the last time i had one done everything was good and my hemaglobin levels were very high ,as good as an elete athlete.

I would really like to know why my penis is hard in the resting state and why the pelvic floor is constantly rock hard.

i think the reason why i have shooting pains is due to tissue compressing the nerves in the areas where the tissue is hard ,also constricting blood
flow and causing cramps ,so it isnt to do with a lack of certain nutrients causing the cramps.
but i don't know why the tissue/muscles in the genital region and connecting areas are constantly hard.
do you have any explainations as to why this is ,that would be very much appreciated

thank you for your responses so far

Accupuncture, accupressure, chiropractic plus take a supplement: chelated magnesium and drink good water without chlorine in it. Get a shower/ bath filter so not bathing in chlorinated h2o. Put epsom salts in hot tub and soak for 20 min. See an alternative MD with a background in nutrition and vitamin therapies. Take 10 mg melatonin to sleep, stop drinking alcohol and eating fake foods. Walk in sunshine or swim daily. Good luck

Eight years?  Gosh, I thought this had only been going on for a few months.  You did say something about your back bothering you, and so could be some abnormality in your lower back is doing all this, irregardless of the tension you feel throughout your body.  But I think you should go to a regular doc and have blood drawn and see where your vitamin and electrolyte numbers really are, plus they should do a few hormonal panels to make sure those glands are functioning properly.  And he can do a simple X-ray of your lumbar spine t see if it's out of order.  He should also review all pills you take, including vit/min supplements (you can get too much of some vits and mins), and see if any of them have side effects to produce muscle stiffening.  Let us know if any of those things might be the problem.  And since this has been going on for eight years, perhaps a doc somewhere along the way has said what you might have wrong, so review any records as to what they may have said to you or search your memory if you have no records.

i mean would the lack of nutrients flowing through the muscles/reaching the muscles also be the cause for them to be constantly hard?

Thank you for your help

would a restriction in circulation cause potassium ,calcium ,magnesium to not reach the muscles causing the muscles to cramp and would it cause the muscles to be constantly hard?

I take calcium magnesium ,bananas ,tissue salts (if you think there of any value) everyday
i have a very well rounded diet
i don't smoke or drink ,i get good sleep
this condition has been ongoing for 8 yrs and i have tried many types of treatment with no success or even alleviating some of the symptoms
there are other people with similar issues dealing with a "hard flaccid" peins
there is a support community called hardflaccid.org

I think you should consider the genital issue as part of your muscle tension issues.  Now, while something neurologically could be going on, I like the path of least resistance, and to me it sounds just like you have a vitamin/mineral deficiency going on.  You know how you can get these really strong cramps in your feet sometimes?  It's because you are mineral deficient, and thus you need to up food intake of mineral-packed foods.  I'll bet if you ate a banana today, your cramps would start to ease up.  Other mineral foods would include a handful of cashews or whole grain bread, which gives you magnesium; OJ and bananas gives you potassium; and milk and cheese gives you calcium.  Here's a website that goes into this in detail:

http://www.livestrong.com/article/425281-what-mineral-deficiency-causes-muscle-cramps/

That site also gives links to other causes of muscle cramps, which may guide you to other solutions to what is wrong with you.  If nothing seems to cure it up, return to this post and tell us how things went.
