forehead swelling/severe headaches

My son is 17 years old and is suffering from severe headaches and forehead swelling.  The forehead swelling is very noticeable and quite severe looking.  We had a ct scan done of the sinus, but it was negative.  His doctor put him on augmentin, but after 3 days, the swelling still has not gone down, nor has his headaches stopped.  My son has had juvenile diabetes since age 5, and has mild
related symptoms of autism.  His doctor stated that he has a sinus infection, but ct scan did not show any signs of infection.  Could you please give me some advice and what to do next?

Sinus infections do not show swelling on the face. You have not mentioned since when is the swelling there. And which area on the forehead ?
