had back surgery on l3 and l4 on 6/1/11

I and back surgery on my lower back on 6/1/2011,and still having pain in lower back and lt leg from the hip to below lt knee tingling and acking and burning,when i sit for while when i stand up the pain is on a scale of 1 to 10 ats about 8

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

I am sorry to hear about your continued pain. Postoperative pain can be the result of several possibilities including inadequate removal of the herniated disc, postoperative inflammation/scarring, surgery at the wrong spinal level, muscle spasm psychosocial issues, etc. Treatment would include re-operation (if indicated), chronic pain intervention, rehabilitation (physcial/occupational), and/or neuropathic medications.

It would be best to discuss your symptoms with your surgeon and decide if you need further imaging and/or further medical management.
