True, stress and anxiety can manifest physically in a number of ways - I think I've probably had them all. However, don't let it be put off by docs as "psychological". They don't know until they test you out. Then, if it is, you can see a psychologist/psychiatrist/counselor - whatever you prefer, if any. A good combo of cognitive therapy and maybe even meds did my anxiety a world of good. Anyway, as far as the vertigo, it can be brought on by stress, but it can also be something wrong with the inner ear/migraine headaches/or a CNS prob. Mind you, I'm not a doctor, but all my comments come from personal experience. Consider an Ear Nose and Throat if a neurologist can't help you to rule out inner ear probs. Take care!
It could very well be stress/anxiety. The strange things about the physical symptoms of anxiety is that you don't have to be experiencing anxiety at the same time as you're experiencing symptoms. Does that make sense? Consider post-traumatic-stress-disorder...the effects show up after the fact. With generalized anxiety, symptoms are all over the place: heart palpitations, shooting pains, dizziness, shortness of breath, tightess in chest, numbness, tingling, ringing in ears, confusion, etc.
You're doing the right thing by getting checked out by a doctor: Blood test, BP, heart monitor.... If you're really concerned, ask for an MRI (couldn't hurt to ask).
If it IS anxiety, stressing about your symptoms will only make it worse. Next time you find yourself freaking out about a symptom...try to slow down your breathing & relax. Chances are high that all of this is a result of your stressful time. (I'm going through very much the same thing right now)
Good luck...be well!
