I am having a very severe pain one the left side of my head and it is like a shock, it is on a particular place.  From last 10 years i am taking a medicine ie zen retard 200 then 300 and previously i was taking 400 twice daily.  Now the medicine is not showing any result and the pain has increased to my left cheeck and left jaw. I had gone through the MRI also but that is also ok. pl advice.

Hi there!

Headaches can be caused by a variety of reasons often categorized into primary headaches, secondary headaches, and cranial neuralgias. The primary headaches include tension headache, migraine cluster headaches and similar pathologies. Secondary causes can be due to sinusitis eye problems, etc and the cranial neuralgias that include the trigeminal neuralgias. Though structural issues such as growths/ masses can be ruled out with an MRI, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to differentiate between these. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an internist initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
