help!!! i feel ill and need help to figure it out

by duke716, May 02, 2009 12:43PM
has anyone ever felt strong pulsations in their head that just won't go away? i have had these strong pulsations for the last two years. exertion and stress seem to aggravate it..but it is always there. seems like it is one spot on the arteries in head that i feel the most pressure. sometimes they will pulsate in a rather violent nature.or consrict or dialate or whatever it is called. it started long ago when i used to feel overheated a lot and thirsty and then i would get heart palpitations as well. after exerting myself at work the veins would constrict violently and after that they would feel weird the rest of the day. i just thought i needed to exercise and drink plenty of fluids and eat right. after feeling these episodes enough... i started going to a doctor and my family doctor seemed to think i was just fine. i changed to an internal medicine doctor and was able to convince him to run tests. He did blood work, glucose tests, thyroid tests, MRA/ MRI, CT Scan. everything came back normal. How is this possible? I would get this pressure behind my eyes as well as this intense pressure from my veins. The pulsations were just as bad but on one side of my head close to the ear and the right side temple. Every day i am tortured because i can not get a diagnosis on this. It almost feels like something is either blocked or aggravated. did a sed rate test...normal. i used to get anxiety a long time ago but i think it was from worrying how i feel inside. as the day goes on the sensations get worse and worse and i am starting to get some stabbing pains and some squeezin pains as well. i need a doctor to take me seriously before it is too late... thanks.

Most of your symptoms point towards a migraine.
The best part is your MRI and CT scan are normal that clearly tells that you do not have any major problem in your brain.
Consult a good neurologist and start your treatment.
Do not let yourself stress and try to lead a healthy stressless life!
Take care.

Hey Duke, Hope all is well.  I have the exact same symptoms as you.  I have been getting strong pulsation sensations in my head mainly above my right temple and pressure behind my eyes.  Only got the pressure thing a few times in the morning.  But, have been getting the pulsation sensation every night for a month and a bit during the day.  Really weird, I'm otherwise healthy, young (23), have low blood pressure, no stress and never get headaches.  I’m seeing a lot of posts about similar symptoms and people seem to attribute it to anxiety, but I most definitely have no anxiety.  So don’t buy that.  This thing is starting to really annoy me, can you please let me know if you have found anything since your last post.  Please let me know, thanks!

Hi Duke,
I am in the same boat.  Have you found out anything.  I just finished my MRI and nothing outstanding to explain it.  The sound in my head varies from white noise to extremely debilitation but I have constant pressure in the base of my skull.  This makes it so I can't even put my head on a pillow or I wake up with the worst headaches.  Any news?
