The radiologist thinks your husband likely has a thyroglossal duct cyst (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thyroglossal_duct_cyst). It's generally harmless but may require removal. It seems like it's not a complex cyst (aka a cyst that has separate compartments and is more likely to be worrisome by its very nature), but due to a lack of contrast agent the radiologist can't be 100% sure. They also didn't rule out the possibility that your husband has a different lesion in that area (a tumor, malignant or otherwise).
Given the frequency of thyroglossal duct cysts, that's what he's most likely to have--but an MRI will better define the soft tissue in that area to identify what's caused the abnormal signals on the CT scan. What are his symptoms?
you may discuss the following medical procedures with an Orthopedic to resolve the cariliage damage goodluck and all the best
for the cervical spondylosis the following medical procedures will help restore the cartiliage to its well being
# mosaicplasty or osteochondral autograft transplantation surgery - surgeon removes plug of bone with cartilage covering from healthy area of the joint and transplants it to the damaged area
# periosteal flap - surgeon removes a portion of the periosteum (connective tissue covering all bones) from shin and transplants it to the area of cartilage damage
# autologous chondrocyte implantation - surgeon arthroscopically removes small portion of cartilage from knee; tissue is sent to a lab to be cultured; second surgery required so lab-grown cells can be implanted at the site of the damaged cartilage
# osteochondral allografts - donor bone is used to repair the damaged cartilage
the radiologist sees something on/around your thyroid, i believe. possibly a thyroglossal duct cyst or a solid soft tissue lesion. he is suggesting an mri of your neck be done with constrast. you likely have a goiter and you have a sinus infection. you also have Spondylosis (spinal osteoarthritis) is a degenerative disorder that may cause loss of normal spinal structure and function. you have this is mltiple areas of your cervical spine.
i'm not a dr, but i think that's about right.
