high creatinine and tingling

I have had a bunch of blood work done because my grandmother had als, not generational,  My neuro ran a cpk level which came back double the amount.  She told me to stop taking all of the supplements i was on for a few weeks and we would check it again after the holidays.  She said everything else was normal that would indicate anything serious.  My muscles were twitching and she said the high creatinine level would cause that.  Since I have been of the vitamins the twitching has continued and I am getting some tingling in my right hand from the elbow down, sometimes it feels cold.  I am scared as anything and I am also exhausted.  I have no kidney or renal issues.  I have had a horribly stressful year from a migraine medicine.  My headaches have finally gotten better and now this.  Does anyone have any advice?  Would I go back to the neuro for this or is there another type of doctor that I should be seeing?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I suppose that the most common reasons for developing raised creatinine levels will be when the filtration mechanism becomes gradually damaged by long-term hypertension or Diabetes. In any severe feverish illness where the person gets dehydrated, there may be a rise in blood creatinine levels as the kidney tries to deal with the breakdown products of proteins in our bodies. On its own, a single creatinine level does not really give us much useful information.
For your twitching you can discuss the symptoms with neurologist and decide regarding further plan of management.
Have you repeated your test? What does the report say?
Do you have hypertension or diabetes? Have you checked for them?
Hope this helps.
Bye.

Hello.

A high level of CPK suggest damage to muscle fibres. You should consult your neurologist again. Also check your blood sugar.
