hip pain after 4 level fusion with instrumentation

Hi,
I had 4 level fusion with rods and screws done in May. So I'm about 3 months out. I started having pain across my butt cheek and down my right leg. I told the doctor and he put me on celebrex and cortisione injection. Now the pain is in my hip and is so painful that I cannot hardly walk for any distance. I also don't sleep more than 4 or5 hours at night. I feel for everyone in here. No one really knows how bad constant pain is to live with.

I am sorry to hear about your pain and suffering. It is an unfortunate but true fact that any type of spinal surgery involves a risk of nerve damage. There could have been an injury, impingement or damage of a spinal nerve leading to your symptoms of severe pain. Please go for an MRI spine with contrast and consult the neurologist who performed the surgery to let him know about the complication. The symptoms may be relieved with the help of physiotherapy or may require decompression of nerve if any. If there is a nerve damage, it may take upto 6-12 months for the nerve to regenerate or may be even longer. A nutritious diet and physiotherapy may help in that case. Hope this helps you.
