hip pain radiating down leg

My husband has complained of low back pain for over a year now.  He has recently developed severe hip pain on his right side.  It goes from his buttox to the side of his hip and now moves around the front to groin area and is going down front of the leg to the calf.  He is almost always in pain whether he is walking, sitting or laying down.  He has even been awakened from his sleep with this pain.  The family dr. said he had severe arthritis from xrays.  Orthopedic said he had a cracked disk he never allowed to heal and there was nothing that could be done about it.  Please help, we are trying to get approval for an MRI.  He also had a lump appear in his right breast.  Father died from prostate cancer.

Thanks, didn't know if MRI would show the problem or not.  Still waiting to hear an approval for the test.

Hi,

The pain experienced by your husband could be due to pinched nerve in the lower spinal region. The MRI will detect that. As far as the nodule in the right breast is concerned, please get it examined by a surgeon. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC ) can confirm the diagnosis.
