There are numerous possibilities. She needs a spinal MRI, with dye contrast, pariculiarly of the lumbar region. And an ultrasound to determine and rule our circulatory etiology. Gabapentin stinks and morphine and opiates don't work. A tens device is sometimes helpful. There are also special exercises that can be performed very inexpensively if there is lumbar compression. The most likely cause is lumbar compession. The second most likely cause is circulatory. Inexpensive supplements like cod liver oil and omega three fish oils improve lubricosity and microcirculation. Avoid vitamin E. Try a baby aspirin a day.

hello dr_sirman
but we sure her disease isnt restless legs syndrome, cause when she work more in the day her pain is more and when she rest more her pain is less,it is not a neurologic disease, when she was young she did heavy work and lift heavy things and i think it is a reason for her pain,i think it is not a jenetic disease, pls think more about our problem,

Hello  soudabeh,
You should consult a neurologist and rule out all possible causes. If there is no other cause found, it is called as primary restless legs syndrome.

Check your serum ferritin levels. Your mother  may need oral iron supplementation. Increasing ferritin levels helps reduce the symptoms of restless legs syndrome.

There are quite a few medicines available such as Gabapentine, which can give you some relief. Also you should go in for  x-ray to rule arthritis.
