how long will i take medicines for migraine

Hi, My age is 29. I am facing headache problem for past four years. during first year pain was not severe. it would start from lower head then any where.Now i face severe headache daily. Normally in morninig session i get severe headache. if i work more than regular hours or strain more then headache increases drastically. my ears and eyes are paining. I had taken medicines for two years and with out consulting doctor i stopped medicine. now again i started taking medicines. eventhough i have taken medicine contineously for past 4 months, headache is not reduced.
medicines now i am taking are Dicorate ER 250, ciplar la 40 mg ,gabantin forte ( all are twice a day).
doctors diagnosed my case as migraine.
how long will i take medicines for migraine?
Is there any food restrictions?
is there any other thing that can prevent migraine?
