hyrocephalus overdrainage

hyrocephalus overdrainage

Hi--I have had the same VP shunt for 16 years.  I have had a problem for several years and have been to my NS regarding it.  After a CT scan he insists that it is doing it's job with no problems.  I would like another opinion please.
The only time that I can tell that the shunt is draining is first thing in the morning.  Within a few minutes of waking up--I become very dizzy, can not hold my eyes open and have noticed by checking my pulse that my heart beats fast.
My shunt is the result of a benign brain tumor, I do not know the type of valve--only that it is not programmable.  I only know that it has a medium setting.
I appreciate your response.  Thank you Karen
