is a cyst on the brain a form of cancer

my wife saw her nuerolgist today and was told that they had found a cyst on her brain she was then told that she needed to go see a doctor at the Uof U could this cyst lead to cancer and if so what are her chances of surviving

Your question is too vage to reply to properly. If the cyst is only a cyst then the chances will be no. But without a MRI with CONTRAST that call can not be made. Cyst vary from what location of the brain the cyst is in to the size and if it's pushing into the Hippa Champas(SP) She probally has a achnorolid and was born with it. You can go th Med Help after she gets a name and google it in Does she have a site on here if so have her to give me a shout out
