is the mri the ultimate decider

I have all the other symptoms of MS but my MRI shows one large grey mass on the left side of my brain instead of leisons like most mri's from MS . Im at a lost as I live way up north with very little medical help.

Hi there.

I understand your concern.

The symptoms of MS are not absolute so although you may have these symptoms, you may have other problems rather than MS.  I suggest you discuss with your doctor regarding this MRI findings (but I believe this is unlikely to be MS based on what you described).  This could be a primary mass in the brain that can cause same symptoms as MS.  The MRI characteristics usually give a clue to what kind of mass it is, but your neurologist may recommend a biopsy if he deemed it necessary.

Hope this helps.  Regards...
