joint or nerve pain in hips/legs???

I've had unbearable pain in my hip joints, and right leg which I thought was a scitic nerve condition, unable to get a definitive diagnosis. MRI revealed a degenerative disc condition on L1-L2, L3-L4 and an 8mm heamgiona on L3. The doc says I souldn't be in as much pain as I complain of, and vevryone has some kind of degenerative disc condition at 41. sometimes it's just the leg, but most of the time, like every afternoon through night my legs feel like they've been pulled out of my hips, and I'm not kidding, sometimes the pain radiates down through me legs into my kneecaps.  I've had one cortozone epidural and vicodine dose next to nothing to even touch it. I've seen a rhumatoligist (i know I can't spell) and found nothing, blood...nothing and every day it's the same ot worse. Does anyone share this pain or have any ideas??

I posted before but it didn't post, so if it does come up, sorry for this repeat.  I have the same exact pain as you and have a disc protrusion at L4-5.  Just had fusion surgery on my neck and will see what the doc says about my lower back when I go to see him in August as the lower back has progressed quite rapidly over a years' time.  The pain is awful, but the vicodin I take for my neck does help it; exercise and physical therapy only aggrevate degenerative disease I have come to find.  I would suggest a second or third opinion to you; I think I've found the best neurosurgeon around and feel lucky.  I'm also only 42 and hope my neck surgery works; it's very hard to alleviate this degenerative pain.  Best to y ou........

I am 54 and my legs are about gone. After suffering an injury at work, the mri's revealed DDD in my entire spine and I also suffer from osteoarthritis along with sciatica and other things I don't understand on the mri reports. I cannot even walk a half a block anymore without my hips screaming at me and my legs feel as though I am trying to walk through rushing water or deep sand and I have to rest. Tears come pouring out the pain is so bad and my depression is so much worse now. I use to be so active and strong. I was told that it is the arthritis causing all of this. I am sure I have something else like fibro but in this small town the Dr. doesn't seem to know what that is.
So I can say that I do share generally the same pain as you.
I wish I had more to say that could help but I am also in question as to what this is and what can be done.
