large subarachnoid cyst in the brain

My cyst is in the posterior fossa within the midline in the cisterna magna. There is no hemorrhage or miline shift and no unusual enhancing masses are seen with the internal auditory canals or within the brain MRI brain lac's with and without contrast.
I have known about this cyst for 17 years, however the first MRI seems to be lost by UCDAVIS. I can't prove that the cyst has grown, but I am having multiple symptoms: balance, dizziness, headaches, time loss, and strange visuals.
I am on Lamictal for bi-polar disorder. I believe I had a seizure 2 years ago while driving I suddenly found myself off the freeway in an unformilar neighborhood. My question to you is this, what is the treatment for this cyst, is surgery possible?
I am in the process of being referred to a neuro-surgeon but I am on Medi=Cal and it is a lengthy process. I don't want to wait a year to see if this has grown because of my symptoms. the cyst is 3.2x5,0 cm in the axial plane.
