left shoulder pain

I had surgery 2 yrs ago gonna be 3 in noveber of this yr 2009 and my left shoulder joint is causing me greif.Sharp pains in the joints when i raise my arm can you tell me whats going on? Or is it related to my neck fusion of the 5th n 6th vertebrai please let me now.I am losing strnght in this arm in particular...email me at ***@**** thank you

It will help us to know if you underwent physiotherapy after surgery. Physiotherapy is very useful in developing the muscles around the shoulder after cervical fusion and prevents shoulder pain later on.
There is a good chance that your symptoms are related to the cervical fusion. However it is difficult to say anything for sure without an MRI. I would suggest you to get in touch with your treating doctor and get an MRI done. In the meantime take rest and avoid all heavy lifting. Ice packs will also help. Thanks
