leftsided facial palsy with severe headache

by kadydidnt, Jul 09, 2009 07:35PM
Hi, I stumbled onto this site by accident but I'm begging for some answers.  About six months ago I started having my left eye get this "hollow" feeling followed by my left eyelid drooping on down to upper lips feeling like it was shot full of novacaine.  This lasts now for several hours, sevral times a day.  I may have a "day off" and then it's right back.  I get very pale and sweatey too.  I have had blood tests for lyme, myasthenia gravis, bells palsy, lupus, thyroid, all negative. Sed rate fine.  Had echocardio which said my ejection fraction is 40 which is kinda low but the doc's say no big deal and doesnt explain the palsy.  Had brain mri and they found "white matter changes" spots and their diagnosis was possible MS or microvasculopathy.  Then since everything was coming out neg they sent me to who I thought was a general neurologist but turns out his specialty is MS and he wants to do a lumbar puncture but he doesn't really think it's MS.  He's testing for lyme yet again...about the 6th time , during the puncture.  Also a few other things that he was fague explainging to me.....

(My face and severe headaches and profound exhaustion are my main complaints)  I did suffer from a car accident in 05 where the neurologist said I had central cord syndrom (syndrome) and since I have a congenitally narrow canal I bled into the colum, and am unfortunately one of the ones who has ongoing problems with central cord symptoms...but I dont think this has anything to do with facial palsy and bad headach.  I asked the MS guy today if he thought I was having petit seizures, no....cluster headaches and he said no....not migraines either (which I'm suspicious about because oh my gosh I wake up and cant even open my eyes the pain is so bad in the mornings.  And throughout the day these headaches and face droops last hours...I scare kids in the store and everyone asks me if Im having a stroke....Also the palsy is going across to the other side of my forehead now and I have to close both my eyes out of just forehead fatigue!!! I cant drive or go anywhere when it's like this.

So please excuse my whining...Im just so fed up and exhausted and have not been given any answers so my anxiety and depression over it is starting to get the better of me.  Anyone out there that can think of anything this might be???

Anyway....can anyone please help me???
