lesions

Does having white lesions on your spine and brain only mean you have ms?? can it be anything else??

Hi I have been having the numbness and tingling on my feet mostly and a little with my left hand finger tips. I guess the mri showed a couple of active lesions. also the dr's have not ruled out anything else?? I think i may seek a 2nd opinion. should I be really worried

Hello.

White matter lesions in brain and the spinal cord are not seen exclusively in MS. There are a number of vascular disorders, leukodystrophies and trauma as causes of the white matter lesions.

Can you mention if you have symptoms suggestive of demyelination? Have you been screened for MS?
