light headedness

by pegsat, Jul 17, 2008 10:55PM
my 11 year old son is complaining of being lightheadedness when looking down or up, there is no sign of injury or bleeding anywhere. no issue of headaches. he says he feels like he is on a rollarcoaster. like high speeds and in tight loops. no known medical history . no problem with eyesight. ears are clear, no fever.
it is worse when he lays down.
any ideas please.

Hi,

How are you?
Has your son been under undue stress or anxious?
Anxiety and stress is one of the cause of lightheadedness. Other causes can be anemia or low blood hemoglobin, low blood sugar, dehydration and low blood pressure.
I would suggest to him to eat regularly, drink adequate amounts of fluids, take an OTC multivitamin supplement.
If condition does not improve please get him checked by a neurologist. Keep us posted!
