lower back and leg pain

Dear Doctors:
I could really use some advice here.
About 4 months ago (May 98) I woke up with the worst sore back you could have.
The activities I had done the previous 3 days where this-- picked up a 70lb
piece of equipment using my back,  then went golfing a day later.  No pops,  cracks
or anything.  Also with this lower right back pain came really bad groin pain when
sitting.  Almost as if my right testicle where going to shoot out of my body.
I gave it a few days to go away but it did not.  To make a long story short,
over 4 months I have taken naproxen,  vicodin,  prednisone,  had two MRI's
a bone scan,  an EMG,  2 months of PT,  and one month of Chiropractic.
All tests are negative for breaks,  disc bulges,  or nerve damage,  and only the
PT has helped a litle,  along with an epidural injection(somewhat helped).
I know you cannot diagnose over the net but my symptoms are somewhat simple,  I think.
I have lower right sided back pain which has moved to my right calf.  The pain
goes away when I lay down and gets worse when I sit in a chair and even worse when
I sit on the floor indian style.  The strange thing is the groin pain.
I have pain behind my right testicle in the "tube" that runs behind the testicle.
This really hurts when I lift something and when I sit.  This pain goes away when
I lie down.  Things hurt also when I twist,  like during a golf swing.
I have been inactive for over 4 months and unable to even tie my shoes some days
because of the pain.
Is it possible to have a really,  really bad strain for over 4 months with little improvement.
I really don't know what to do at this point but I cannot live the pain much longer.
Thanks in advance,
