lower body not waking up

lower body not waking up

Over the past few months I have had this problem about 10 times. I wake up in the morning but from the waist down, my body does not wake up.  After about 5 minutes I will begin to feel some pins & needles and then a painful numbness.  These episodes last about 20 minutes.  Eventually I get regular feeling back in my legs and I can get out of  bed to use the restroom.  It is very scarry when it happens. At first, I almost feel paralized from the waist down.  Could this be a neurological disorder?  I've been searching all over the web for info on this.  Thank you, Jane

hi,this could be neurological disorder, peripheral neuropathy or spine compression.
Please take the opinion of Neurologist. Some investigations like MRI spine, blood tests to be carried out to rule out viral cause or else.
Relax and take care!
