lyme tests

by kimnrob7, Nov 05, 2009 04:01AM
I have removed dear ticks but i never noticed a site reaction,.rash, bulls eye, etc. now i found out a tick can infect in less than 12 hours and sometimes there is no site reaction ,and if there is a rash it may take 3 weeks to apper. I know this because my 11 year old is being treated for lyme . I have been treating my leg cramps with quinine a couple of times a mounth for the past year and i have been getting migraines, now i have tennis elbo and joint pain. -----------------   Will quinine or past antibiotics  affect a lyme test? should i ask for a western blot test?, is there a  lyme DNA   test?  or should i  just demand treatment?   what do lyme and antibiotics do to the liver?       thanx

Look, just get a lyme test, tell the doc any medicines you're on or recently been on.  The cure is so easy especially when caught early, but the damage it can cause is so crazy, that you need to get tested every other year, at least, since you tend to get the little beasties on you a lot.  Put some sort of bug deterrent on you and your son's skin when you go outside...I used to keep a natural oil that deters bugs by my back door.  It won't supercede the need for regular testing, but it's better than nothing.  Wear long sleeves and tuck your shirt into your pants, your pants into your socks, and button the top button, that helps too.  Check your body in the mirror regularly after you've been outside and showered.
