my brother is taking 200 mg of dilantin in the morning and 200 mg at night. he starting on temador this week for 5 days. one night this week he took the temador around 7:30 pm then he took his dilantin at9:30 pm by 11:30pm he threw up. The next day he went in for blood work to check his dilantin levels. He did not take his usually 200 mg in the morning before testing. Will this make his level of dilantin change? Due to that he threw up 2 hrs after he took the pills? Does the dilantin go into the blood system that quickly or does it take a while? please advise

hi,on the day of monitoring of blood levels, the drug is not taken. It won't affect his dilantin levels. Also, dilantin reaches blood circulation within 1 hr.

So,relax about dilantin levels!
