I had a thymectomy right after I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. I started going into remission just befor the operation and recovered fully after. It has now been one and a half years since the operation now and I feel like I'm getting symptoms again. How can I be sure that I am not just tired? My muscles are weak after excersise and I do get tired early at night, but it is not as severe as before. I went to my GP and she prescribed Mestinon again, but told me to see my Neurologist. My Neurologist is currently unavailable for the holidays so I can't see him. I used to drink 1 x 60mg mestinon 4 times a day and later 2 four times a day.
I started drinking 1 four times a day now and found an improvement in my facial muscles, but I still feel very tired. Am I maybe drinking too much? Should I stop drinking mestinon now and wait for more definate symptoms? How do I know for sure that I am not in remission anymore?

Hello.

You could go for a re-assessment of Myasthenia Gravis. And since you have been improving on Mestinon, continue taking it till you meet the Neurologist. There have been reports of relapse of myasthenic symptoms after the surgery. These are usually the cases where the complete gland was not removed.
