meds for MS

I just have a quick question for you.  When I mix my med I have begun reducing the amount of sterile water I use and have found that the sting is greatly reduced, both intensity and duration.  Aslong as I inject all that I mix, I should be getting the full dose, right?  Common sense would tell you that it just makes the soln more concentrated and should hurt worse but just .3-.4cc's makes a world of difference.  Am I reducing the benefit of the med by doing this?  Thank you for your help.  Lynn

Dear Lynn:

I wouldn't think that this would change any potency of the medication, as long as all of the material gets into solution.  The solution should not be cloudy, if so then some of the medication may not be soluablized.  It sounds like the added volume of the solution might have been creating more tissue expansion and this was inducing the increased pain.

Sincerely,

Thank you for your quick response.  I always check the clarity of the soln before I inject and it is always clear.  It's amazing how .3-.4cc's of fluid make a big difference.  I didn't think it should make a difference as long as I inject all of what I mix.  Thanks again.  The injection is much more tolerable this way.  Thanks again.  Lynn

your welcome.  I hope the MS stays in remission and you have no exacerbations.
