meningioma resection

meningioma resection

I was diagnosed with Reflex sympathetic dystrophy after shoulder surgery. All three nerves to my right, dominant hand were impacted and I have spent 2 1/2 years in 140 plus phys therapy sessions to regain some use. I have nerve blocks and take meds for nerve pain.   I have now been told I have to have brain surgery for a left parasaggital meningioma. The dura tail is evident, some fluid around the tumor.  I am concerned that my brain may interpret this surgery in the same way and cause a flare or spread of the RSD.  I was told surgery is the best option as it is skull based and that GKS should be reserved for any future reoccurance.

Please let me know if you agree or have any experience with this ..I know RSD is sympathetic nerv system, yet now I have non diabetic gastroparesis and research has shown CNS involvement.

Thank you.

could you give more info?   You said it's on the left !?? Is it up front, middle or rear.
You say the skull is involved so I guess the doctor will make a flap?

What did he/she say..Is he removing it through the sinus cavity or making the bone flap?

How did he find it..or what symptoms took you to him?
Was it headaches with pressure or did it cause problems with your legs etc.
