migraine relief

I have had migraines since I was 12.  Now I am 55.  This year I started a daily hour long, intense pilates class at the local Y.  After the first three months I no longer had headaches as long as I do this.  I also follow a pretty strict fresh veggie and fish diet.  No sugar, processed food, etc. except when I cheat which I do pretty often I admit. Eating a pound of brocolli would sometimes help me feel better.  I love veggies and salmon, sardines (avoil tuna and other large fish at all costs!)  so this is an easy diet for me.  I have been on this diet for 10 years and my migraines did improve but the pilates was the key.  I don't even take over the counter meds anymore.  Before pilates I lived on motrin a good part of the month.  Lately I've started to do boot camp at the Y and other weight bearing exercise and I feel even better.  I have also experiemented with progesterone cream and it has helped, but be careful of using it too often because according to Dr. Mercola progesterone builds up.  He has stopped prescribing it because of this.  Hope this helps!  By the way, before I started pilates at the Y I had been jogging (slow jogger) 2.5 miles a day. This helped a little but I guess I did not push myself the way my pilates teacher pushes us.  I rarely run any more.  I try to walk around the block to give my dog some exercise but am often to lazy even for this.
