misdiagnosed epilepsy?

after many grand mal seizures and clear eegs, my face lost all sensation on my left side as did my hand. my epilepsy was re diagnosed as JME epilepsy i was medicated successfully for many years until i read awful things about topamax, .. i stopped taking it sans medical advice, due to it being classed as a "bad" drug... SUBSEQUENTLY, bringing back all my symptoms! apart from grand mal, i have little or no sensation on my left side limbs.. my left arm is constantly dormant, if i know i need to use it, its a concious "move your left arm" conversation with my arm.. Pre sleeping consists of left side twitching,.. tired conversations consist of jumbled up words (which happened pre meds and were diagnosed as migraines).. I wonder? could the original mild seizure with my left side of face looking like bells palsey and word jumbles and consequent symptoms be a mild stroke?..
