Dear Dr.,
Thank you for your response. I hope you don't mind if I give you a bit more info and repeat some of my questions.
The lesion is in the centrum semiovale, which I have read is the white matter. I am told the seizure activity (and focal slowing) correlates...
My rt sided probs are abnormal sensations: numblike,weakness,tightness that hurts and in my arm at times a ball/tightness,heaviness (my leg).
Can this be from seizure activity?
Would you think stroke or MS?
Wouldn't MS have shown by now? How long will they look for it?
You don't think it's the med, either? What is the diff from myoclonic seizure and jerks? (Is myoclonus the same as myoclonic seizures?) Being I was diag with partial seizures, could it be motor seizures (read in a book)?
What about the speech probs: can't get a word out,can't think of the word,sometimes just sounds like I am making noises.

It's impossible to make any kind of diagnosis without personally reviewing the MRI. It's extremely important to see exactly where the lesion is (what side?) how big it is, where it extends, and if there's any other lesions present. Also need to know more about the symptoms, are they episodic, what happens during the seizure, what does the EEG look like both with and without the seizure. There are usually more lesions on an MRI scan if someone has had many episodes of MS flareups. SO if you've only had one lesion on the MRI and many different neurologic symptoms at different times, then it's less likely to be MS. Myoclonic jerks can be a part of an epilepsy syndrome when they are associated with seizures, and then they are labeled myoclonic seizures. BUt you can certainly have myocloniv jerks alone. Again, need more info and a detailed exam before commenting on the speech problems, although I wonder if it could be because of the meds. You really need to sit down with your docs and tell them you want to know what's going on. Good luck
