mri elbow

I went to a doctor and had xrays on my right elbow everything was normal.  i was having severe pain in my arm so i had a cortizone shot and then i could sleep at night but within 2 weeks the pain was back and so my doctor order a mri on my elbow.  i was in a position where i was on my stomach and arm above my head for 45 min. the pain was so severe and my upper right went to sleep.  it has now been almost 3 weeks and i have no feeling on outer portion of my arm this numness was never there before did i put my arm in dire straits or did the condition just move some place else
