muscle cramp in my thigh

i have been having trouble with my left leg i sometimes get stiffness in the thigh area and  my leg sometimes buttle from beneath me and when i lift my leg it locks i had an injection a fornight ago and ever since i'am getting painfull cramping sensation in my thigh and i cant put any pressure on my leg untill it passes

Pain in thigh and stiffness are seen usually following certain injections like heparin.
What injection did you receive?
I would suggest you to take OTC pain killers and see if the pain and stiffness goes away.
If it does not go away, please get yourself clinically evaluated.

thankyou for replying i can't remember the name of the injection it begins with m and was quit a long word m.......... acetate injection i still get pain in the thigh and i due to see the doc. on the 3rd oct.

Hi,

It is possible that you received medroxy progesterone acetate injection which is given intramuscularly for birth control every 3 months. Was it for birth control?
It can cause pain and numbness in the leg. It is good that you will be seeing your doctor soon. Do keep us posted!
