muscle cramps and burning sensation in back muscles with reports

A brief description of my symptoms(Sequential order over the past 8 months):-
1)Started with pain in right scapula(like  severe muscular cramp)
2)spread to the left scapula also in 1 month(similar kind of pain)
3)burning sensation and pain(characterised by stiffening and cramps) in the muscles(only back muscles on both sides)with even the slightest work
4)spread to the back of neck in 2 months.
5)burning sensation totally gone since 4 months.
6)seems to have spread to the lower back also,since 20 days(characterised by uneasinesswhile sitting and pain when pressure is applied on the lower back
like sleeping on my back,bending forward.
I want to tell u some more Sir :Nothing is seen abnormal from outside,I weigh 61 kg,Height 5'11'',nothing like an accident happened since 7 yrs,the last one was just falling out of a bus which strained my right elbow that's all.I had undergone Septoplasty for the nose in june 2005,for removing some extra growth blocking my Right nostril.
MRI scan of cervico Dorsal spine reports these(2 days ago):-
1)central disc protusion at C5-C6 intervertebral disc causing thecal sac indentation and minimal indentation over spinal cord at that level.
2)Mild central disc bulges at C3-C4 and C4-C5 intervertebral discs.
3)left side paracentral disc bulge at C6-C7 intervertebral disc.
Blood test I have undergone:
1)Hematology Report :   No abnormality(as concluded by the physician)
2)Bio-Chemistry report : No abnormality(as concluded by the physician)
3)Complete urine analysis No abnormality(as concluded by the physician)
4)X-ray PA view         :Lungs are clear,both hila normal,cardiac size normal
5)Serum Rheumatoid factor :7          (0-12)
6)Serum Creatinine  :           1.2         (0.4-1.4)
7)C.Reactive Protein  :         0.2      (0-0.6)
8)Serum T.S.H.        :           2.7    (0.35-5.5)
9)Serum CPK         :            96     (20-190)
10)Total CPK        :             76     (upto 190)

First of all keep in mind that I am unable to diagnose you, since I am unable to examine you, this forum is for educational purposes. The symptoms/information you describe are non-specific, but suggest that you are having pain relates to your cervical disc disease.  When cervial discs bulge or herniate they can push on the spinal cord, push on the nerve roots as they exit the spinal cord or press on the spinal nerves as the exit the foramina of the veterbral column.  Severe compression of the spinal cord would result in paraylsis (or at least weakness in arms and/or legs) bowel and bladder dysfunction and pain.  Compression of the nerves can have variable results, from pain only that then resolves, to weakness, pain and atrophy. You suggest a change in your symptoms with bending foward or sleeping on your back, which also suggests disc disease.

I would recommend an EMG to evaluate the extent of the damage to your nerves (if you only have sensory (pain) problems without weakness, that is a good sign). I would also recommend a MRI of your thoracic and lumbar spine given your lower back symptoms. There are also less common disorders that can cause symptoms like you describe such as CIDP, and neuralgic amyotrophy.  After these tests your neurolgist will be able to refer you to a neurosurgeon if needed, or you may improve with physical therapy.  I hope this has been helpful.

sounds like what i have, and i'm just getting over it after 3 years-- and mine seems like it was worse. it sounds to me like upper crossed syndrome, and possibly lower crossed syndome (if your lower back hurts). the two usually present together and have to do with front/back muscle imbalance. from being hunched and rounded in the shoulders, your upper traps/pecs/l scapulae/scalenes get short and tight, and your mid back muscles get weak and lengthened-- can't compete with yor "front" muscle strength and go into spasm. it's nasty. go to a website by erik Dalton to learn about the syndromes and then a website by Jolie Bookspan and fix this yourself. to me, it does not sound like anything a doctor or surgery can help you with. are you on the computer alot, or hunched/seated at work......??? picture what this does to your back musculature....
