muscle pull

Hi
I have a pain in my pelvis area near the crease of my leg. I was told by my OBGYN that it was a muscle pull.
I had a hip x ray  to rule out arthritis. I took the hip x rays and back x rays to a arthritis Doctor. I was told by the Doctor that my hip was good, with no arthritis, I did have a deg disc, but my back x rays looked pretty good. I was told  that every one over the age of 50 will have deg disc back condition, I am over the age of 60.
The arthritis Doctor gave me Naproxen 500 mg two a day,to treat a pulled muscle.
I have two questions. Do you think this pulled muscle will get better ? Do you have  advice as to how treat this condition. Thanks  so mush for  for your help, I appreciate your comments.
