muscle spasms

muscle spasms

i have had muscle spasms for the past 5 months now. i think its related to social anxiety, but its gradually gotten worse over time, to where im just sitting at home. i smoke cannabis and the spasms usually intensify during social situations while i am high (usually we drive around town). i try to sit still, but its involuntary. it comes and goes everyonce in awhile, about 2 to 3 times a day, lasting no more than 5 to 10 minutes. the muscles involved is both inner thigh muscles, upper neck, shoulders and lower back. i think i am conciously over the anxiety issue(the general fear and worry), but i still have the spasms. i have quit smoking weed for about a month, but the spasms continue. i weigh 120 lbs (high metabolism), male, 20 yrs old. i have not seen a doctor yet, but im planning on it.

muscle spasms can deffinately be caused by anxiety. Another thing that might not be helping is that smokin weed can cause anxiety and panic attacks. I used to have panic attacks when I smoked weed. I didn't get them at first but after smokin for a few years they got pretty bad. For some reason though when i quit smokin weed my anxiety got worse. have you tried taking xanax or anything else for anxiety? I have muscle spasms now due to an injury and take robaxin for it now. It works really good. I don't think it would be a bad idea to takl to your doc about it. I wouldn't mention the weed though.. He might not give you the meds you need if he knows you smoke... That is IF you need meds. Also Muscle spasms in the shoulders, neck and upper back are most common places in people with anxiety.

i have tried xanax before and it works fine to me as reducing anxiety, and i have smoked for a few years now. i should probably wait for a few weeks before i go to the doctor to see if the weed is the cause.
