my 16 month old

My son is 16 months old.  At 1 year old he was sent to the hospital for having Seizures and they did a Mri on him and an eeg well the eeg has showed seizure action so ok he willh ave seizures.here is the report hope some one can understand and help out. The lateral ventricles are normal in size.  cortical sulci are visible.  There are small areas of increased signal seen bilaterally in the corona radiata adjacent to the bodies of the lateral ventricles.  These extend inferiorly into the posterior limb focally of the internal capsules more so on the right.  There is no focal diffusion abnormality.  
There is anticipated maturation of white matter elsewhere

Impression:  Symmetric small areas of white matter alteration in the corona radiata extending toward posterior limb of internal capsules more so on the right.  The possibilities includeprevious insult such as areas of Leukoencephalomalacia.  Leukodystrophy is not excluded.  .  That is the MRi Report.  If someone could halp my out by understanding this I would love it.  My son also has a gross motor delay with neck and trunk weakness and started walking only a month ago and a severe speech delay.  He was saying momma about three weeks ago and has stooped now for the last three weeks and also was saying baba and mmmm and now no consenit sounds just noises.   Thank you   Lanabeth

are you seeing a pediatric neurologist?  It is not easy to see you child go thru this, but it is important for you to understand that a good Pediatric Neurologist will help you more than you know...  I use to work as a staff person with brain and spinal cord rehab.  Your social worker at the hospital if they are good at their job, will set you up with the hospital's or your family doctor's referal.
