Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor.

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

Fibrous dysplasia can be of several forms – monostotic (i.e., single bone involvement) or polystotic (i.e., multiple bony involvement). Symptoms depend on the location of the lesion. Since you’re your daughter’s lesions is cranial, it is likely the cause of her headaches. These lesions make the bone more fragile. Rarely do they result in another type of tumor, but cases have been documented.

I recommend that you and your daughter consult with an ENT. It may be worthwhile to have an opinion from a neurosurgeon. If no surgery is indicated, a follow up to a headache specialist would be of benefit.

Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.
