my pointer finger tip is swollen callused and numb because of iv nerve damage??

after an iv was flushed there was an intense pain in my right arm that went from the fold of my arm up to my shoulder and down into my hand. It has been 4 weeks now  i can use my arm but the nerve pain is chronic from my shoulder to my hand the tip of my finger is callused and numb. Also the tip of my finger is discolorored and swollen. when the iv was flushed it felt like it was in the nerve the pain was so intense. what could be happening? will it heal and the pain stop?

I have had a similar problem since the end of September when I had an IV in my left hand for a surgical procedure. My pointer finger and top of wrist has been hurting since. I figured it would go away but it has been 4 weeks and it hasn't improved. The nurse was trying to give me medication through the IV the day after my surgery and the IV machine locked (or something like that) and my arm from the elbow down to my hand turned really cold and hurt badly. My finger isn't discolored or swollen though. I am curious also as to how long it will take for the pain to go away.
